Mobile application development ongoing

The app gives the gastroenterology community free access to diagnostic algorithms and the current Rome IV criteria for DGBIs. An integrated marketplace sells the foundation's textbooks and other educational products, which gave them a digital distribution channel for material that used to move through print orders. For clinicians and patients, decades of research is now something they can pull up on a phone in an exam room.

development in the details

The main challenge was organizing a large library of dense medical information into an interface people can actually navigate. The audience ranges from researchers to patients trying to understand a diagnosis, and the app has to stay scientifically accurate for both.

We built the app in Flutter with a custom Laravel API behind it, which let one team ship both iOS and Android quickly. The foundation's staff manage content themselves, and the app includes user accounts, a video library, push notifications, and a working e-commerce store for their publications.
